Dear colleagues:

This is to ask you for sending short articles for e-Bulletin.

The Institute for City Logistics has decided to issue e-Bulletin for informing you of recent advances relating to city logistics and urban freight transport. If you have any news or ideas, please send your short article to the secretariat of the Institute for City Logistics.

An e-Bulletin will be issued each quarter (every 3 months). Articles will send as pdf format file via e-mail.

At least one person from each country should be responsible for providing articles and submitting them to Kyoto University. Articles for the 3rd e-Bulletin should be sent to following address;

e-bulletin@kiban.kuciv.kyoto-u.ac.jp >> by 30 Oct 2005.

>>ABOUT e-Bulletin:

Short articles consisting of a title and 1 or 2 paragraphs relating to current items of interest to researchers and practitioners such as:

  1. Publication of major reports
  2. Publication of books
  3. Announcement of conferences
  4. Papers presented at conferences
  5. Announcement of innovative projects
  6. Announcement of studies

Only a brief description of each item should be included. Links to URLfs (web sites) should be provided to allow readers to easily access more detailed information if desired.

EASTS CONFERENCE

The 5th International Conference of Eastern Asia Society for Transport Studies (EASTS) was held in Fukuoka, Japan, 29th October to 1st November 2003. Numerous papers were presented on logistics in urban areas,

including supply chains and new technologies. Case studies were presented from a number of Asian cities, including, Bangkok, Tokyo, Manila, Seoul and Jakarta. More details of the papers can be found at htt@://www.easts.info/
